Burn survivors have a desire to minimize the appearance of visible
scars and replace loss of hair to increase self-esteem and acceptance
of self-image.
Our Cosmetic Consultation program helps burn survivors improve
their quality of life after and between surgeries by minimizing
the appearance of physical scars. Burn survivors receive specialized
corrective cosmetics and training on their application. All consultations
are performed by a licensed aesthetician.
What is Cosmetic Consultation?
The Corrective Cosmetic Consultation Program helps burn survivors
improve their quality of life after and in between surgeries by
minimizing the appearance of physical scars. Specialized cosmetics
are provided, in addition to instruction and assistance on their
application.
Corrective Cosmetics
Corrective Cosmetics consists of a specialized approach to makeup
which is much more than fashion cosmetics. A special foundation
is used to properly conceal scars, disfigurements, and pigment abnormalities.
Instruction with application technique includes the use of other
cosmetics to enhance and flatter the client's features, helping
them feel comfortable and confident in the look that has been achieved.
Hair Replacement
Consultation for hair replacement prosthesis is available for those
who may have suffered hair loss due to their burn injury.
